Flute, organ concert and vernissage of the Bo Karberg flute exhibition

We are excited to invite you to a magical evening at the Nysted Organ Museum, where we celebrate the Organ Museum's 5th anniversary with an exquisite combination of music and art. This evening marks the beginning of an unforgettable celebration and we are proud to present a number of outstanding concerts this summer

We set out with an exclusive vernissage of Bo Karberg's impressive flute collection, and we will be enchanted by a unique concert with Duo Tramontana, which will transport us back to the beautiful and lively world of baroque music.

Duo Tramontana offers a concert of quite unknown, but very light and happy flute music, composers from the 1720s until approx. 1800. This musical journey will be accompanied by flutes made by the artist Bo Karberg.

Winnie Bugge Frandsen, the first and only soloist trained on historical flutes in Denmark, is in demand both as a soloist, chamber musician and in stagings of passions, cantatas and oratorios throughout the country and the Øresund region.

Søren Gleerup Hansen is also trained as a soloist and can often be found as a chamber musician and as a performer in orchestral contexts, just as he often performs as a soloist on the organ in large parts of Europe.

Duo Tramontana has a long series of concerts behind it and has released their CD: "Royal Danish Flute Music from the 18th Century", which can be bought at the concert.

We hope you will join us for this festive and memorable evening of beautiful music and art at the Nysted Organ Museum.

The concert begins at 19.30 and ends at 9.30 p.m. There will be an opportunity for refreshments during the concert break or before and after the concert, while enjoying the beautiful view of Lake Rørsøen.

22june19:3021:30Concert: Ensemble Storstrøm and Babett Hartmenn, The Organ Museum

Event Details

Experience an unforgettable evening with Ensemble Storstrøm and organist Babett Hartmann, who present a series of brilliant organ concertos by Händel and CPE Bach.

In an intimate chamber music format, Ensemble Storstrøm unites musical expertise and creates a unique atmosphere where together with Babett Hartmann they explore different constellations around the organ. Look forward to being enchanted by the beautiful tones of the historic organs at the Nysted Organ Museum, which will be used to perform these masterpieces.

Babette Hartmann is originally from Zeitz, Germany, but now lives in Slangerup, Denmark, near Copenhagen. She is a versatile freelance musician who enjoys a varied career as an organist, harpsichordist and conductor. She has performed as a soloist in, among other places, Norway, Sweden, Spain, England, Northern Ireland, Japan, Denmark and Germany.

As a church music student, she studied at the music conservatory in Leipzig with Thomas organist Ullrich Böhme and in Copenhagen with Hans Fagius. She also studied in the organist class and later took a master's degree in harpsichord/earlier music with Ketil Haugsand at the same academy.

Babett is involved in several musical projects, including early music ensembles such as Ensemble Barocca and Ensemble Rost, as well as an experimental harpsichord-percussion duo. She is also involved in the Odense Baroque Festival as a co-organizer and is musical director of the Odense Baroque Orchestra as well as organizer of the organ concert series at the "Förderverein Musikfreunde EULE-Orgel Zeitzer Dom eV" in the Zeitz Cathedral in Germany.

Ensemble Storstrøm almost always works without a conductor and has an artistic advisor attached, which has been the case for many years. The unique composition of instruments gives the ensemble a very special sound, which has inspired many composers and arrangers to write specifically for the ensemble. Throughout the 25 years, Danish and foreign composers have written around 100 pieces of music directly for Ensemble Storstrøm.

The ensemble's purpose is "to convey and perform a varied concert program of high artistic quality and to contribute to promoting quality and diversity in musical life." They solve a wide range of tasks primarily in the Cultural Region Storstrøm.

The concert begins at 19.30 and ends at 9.30 p.m. There will be an opportunity for refreshments during the concert break or before and after the concert, while enjoying the beautiful view of Lake Rørsøen.

27Christmas19:3021:30Concert: Professor Hans Fagius's solo concert, The Organ Museum

Event Details

It is with great excitement that we present a unique event at the Nysted Organ Museum: a concert with the renowned soloist and organ professor, Hans Fagius. His presence at our museum is an honor and we are proud to host an artist of his caliber.

Professor Fagius, a leading classical organist and educator, has for years enchanted audiences worldwide with his deeply committed interpretation and technical mastery. Born in Norrköping, Sweden, he was shaped by his early training with master organist Bengt Berg before studying at the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm under the renowned Alf Linder. After graduating in 1974, he continued his studies with the legendary Maurice Duruflé in Paris, enriching his musical understanding and skill.

Professor Fagius' breathtaking musical journey has taken him to teach at conservatories in both Gothenburg and Stockholm, before being appointed Professor of Organ at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in 1989. His extraordinary contribution to the world of music was further recognized when he became a Fellow of the Royal Danish Academy of Music Swedish Conservatory of Music in 1998.

With an impressive discography that includes a complete recording of the organ works of Johann Sebastian Bach and the organ works of Maurice Duruflé, Professor Fagius has demonstrated his immersion in the classical organ repertoire. His masterful performances have won him numerous awards, including the Grand Prix du Disque of the Hungarian Liszt Society in 1981 for his recording of the three major organ works of Franz Liszt.

We invite you to be enchanted by the musical genius of Professor Hans Fagius and be part of this unforgettable evening at the Nysted Organ Museum. Let his tones take you on a journey through time and space, where the music speaks to the soul and lifts us to heights of awe and inspiration.

The concert begins at 19.30 and ends at 21.30 with a break.

There will be an opportunity for refreshments during the concert break or before and after the concert, while enjoying the beautiful view of Lake Rørsøen.

Event Details

Varnishing with smaller works

Atelier Inge Hørup opens the doors to vernissage with smaller works. Come and see the many paintings and meet the artist behind them. Everyone is welcome.

Throughout the summer there will be an exhibition in the studio. Atelier Inge Hørup is open from 27 June – 30 August at: 14 – 17. Mondays and Tuesdays closed.

Inge Hørup works primarily with painting, graphics, and to a lesser extent with sculptures; often with the woman in the center, often erotic motifs and often with a touch of humor. She has a warm, colorful palette. The artworks move into the non-figurative.

With her 40 years of work as an active artist, she has an impressive CV with exhibitions both in Denmark and abroad, including Edinburgh, Toronto, Paris, St. Petersburg, Brussels, Oslo, Regensburg and Tokyo - and now we can also see her in Nysted, where she has just established Atelier Inge Hørup in Adelgade 48.

Inge Hørup has attended the Aarhus Art Academy, and a master's degree with the Danish artist Ulrich Kvist. She grew up in an artistic environment, and had every opportunity to express herself. For a short transition, she studied religion, but encouraged by the painter Ulrik Kvist, she took the leap and became a full-time painter.

Since the early 80s, Hørup has established herself as a recognized artist and in 1993 a documentary film was made about her; Inge Hørup, "A Danish painter". In 1996, she decorated all the front pages of the phone books. Hørup works in his studios in the south of France and in Denmark.

Guitar & songs

On August 16th at 7pm, local singer and storyteller Jan Kjær Andersen will play his songs in English, German and Swahili.

He will also perform his expressive interpretations of, among others, Adele, the Beatles, Carole King, Creedence Clearwater Revival and What a Wonderful World. And a couple of songs in Danish.

It will be a homey late summer evening with Jan’s soft voice and acoustic guitars in the garden or the living room at Skovstræde 2, the first house after the Nysted town sign on the way to Vantore.

You can expect songs with energy – and songs for contemplation. Strong lyrics about time, friendship, love, the globe, war and peace. And lots of dialogue with the audience.

In between the songs, Jan talks about the inspiration from his many travels as a journalist in Africa and Ukraine and other hot spots in the world.

Jan lives in both Denmark’s capital Copenhagen and beautiful Nysted and performs 50-60 times a year in Denmark and Hungary. In April, he performed his interpretations of local Lolland poets Emil Aarestrup and Kaj Munk in the Aarestrup Museum in Nysted.

It will either be a living room or garden concert, depending on the weather. Therefore, only 25 tickets are offered pre-sale. Price DKK 110 or 15 Euro per ticket, which includes cold beer, wine and juice. Payment in cash or MobilePay at the entrance. Ticket booking required either by SMS or phone call to Jan on +4526703681.

The concert lasts about two hours with an intermission.
