Experience an unforgettable evening with Ensemble Storstrøm and organist Babett Hartmann, who present a series of brilliant organ concertos by Händel and CPE Bach.
In an intimate chamber music format, Ensemble Storstrøm unites musical expertise and creates a unique atmosphere where together with Babett Hartmann they explore different constellations around the organ. Look forward to being enchanted by the beautiful tones of the historic organs at the Nysted Organ Museum, which will be used to perform these masterpieces.
Babette Hartmann is originally from Zeitz, Germany, but now lives in Slangerup, Denmark, near Copenhagen. She is a versatile freelance musician who enjoys a varied career as an organist, harpsichordist and conductor. She has performed as a soloist in, among other places, Norway, Sweden, Spain, England, Northern Ireland, Japan, Denmark and Germany.
As a church music student, she studied at the music conservatory in Leipzig with Thomas organist Ullrich Böhme and in Copenhagen with Hans Fagius. She also studied in the organist class and later took a master's degree in harpsichord/earlier music with Ketil Haugsand at the same academy.
Babett is involved in several musical projects, including early music ensembles such as Ensemble Barocca and Ensemble Rost, as well as an experimental harpsichord-percussion duo. She is also involved in the Odense Baroque Festival as a co-organizer and is musical director of the Odense Baroque Orchestra as well as organizer of the organ concert series at the "Förderverein Musikfreunde EULE-Orgel Zeitzer Dom eV" in the Zeitz Cathedral in Germany.
Ensemble Storstrøm almost always works without a conductor and has an artistic advisor attached, which has been the case for many years. The unique composition of instruments gives the ensemble a very special sound, which has inspired many composers and arrangers to write specifically for the ensemble. Throughout the 25 years, Danish and foreign composers have written around 100 pieces of music directly for Ensemble Storstrøm.
The ensemble's purpose is "to convey and perform a varied concert program of high artistic quality and to contribute to promoting quality and diversity in musical life." They solve a wide range of tasks primarily in the Cultural Region Storstrøm.
The concert begins at 19.30 and ends at 9.30 p.m. There will be an opportunity for refreshments during the concert break or before and after the concert, while enjoying the beautiful view of Lake Rørsøen.
